Stopping further acts of genocide.

The main lesson we should get out of the Rwandan Genocide is that genocide is real. Being in the 21st century doesn't mean that atrocities like this are behind us, and we need to be more conscious of things like these happening around the world. The best way to prevent further genocide is for citizens to be more aware of things like these so that we can get our governments to act, reminding them of the remorse they felt not helping those in places like Rwanda.
